The mandate:
Vports entrusted Innovitech with the strategic mission of supporting its initial stakeholder engagement activities in the field of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) in Quebec. The key challenge: identifying and optimizing strategic locations to engage a wide range of key partners in a context where AAM infrastructure and systems are still evolving.
Results
Thanks to Innovitech’s support, this initiative led to the following:
- Strategic partnerships signed: Vports secured leases with Mirabel Heliport to establish the first Quebec vertiport and with Technoparc St-Laurent to host its global headquarters and the Virtual Operations Command Center (VOCC).
- Development of key infrastructure: Analysis and identification of six priority regions for air mobility in Quebec.
- Participation in cross-border test corridors: Active involvement in establishing an aerial and electrified test corridor connecting Vermont and New York State to Quebec.
- Engagement with decision-makers: Strategic discussions with key stakeholders resulted in a funding proposal submitted to Investissement Québec and the Ministry of Economy, Innovation, and Energy (MEI) to support the deployment of the VOCC and future vertiports in Quebec.
- Announcements and partnerships: The smooth launch of Vports Quebec was announced at the Montreal International Aerospace Innovation Forum.
