The brief

Innovitech worked in close collaboration with Aéro Montréal to carry out a strategic study and help set up the Aero Zone, a collaborative innovation ecosystem aimed at increasing business productivity, creating new high value-added businesses and accelerating the passage of ideas to market.​

Through sustained support based on close collaboration between Innovitech and Aéro Montréal, the aim was to enlighten decision-makers as to the relevance and viability of the innovation zone and the possible harmonisation with its environment. The development of this collaborative zone places a major emphasis in Quebec’s aerospace industry on decarbonising the environment, electrification, autonomous transport, the digital transition, as well as advanced manufacturing and innovative materials.

The results

Innovitech participated in the development of the Aero Zone plan in 4 main distinct phases:

  • Phase 1: STRATEGIC POSITIONING: Analysis of the Quebec and global environment, challenges, opportunities, benchmarking of best practices and analysis of various possible synergies with industry players.​
  • Phase 2: OPPORTUNITY TARGETING: Analysis of opportunities for transforming the sector, cross-sector management and analysis of other infrastructure projects​
  • Phase 3: STRATEGIC PLANNING: Planning the governance, strategies, initiatives and defining the players for each component of the plan​
  • Phase 4: MOBILISATION PREPARATION: Marketing plan, specifying the guidelines, proposing the various stakeholders and promoting to the various aerospace institutions.
