Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Industrial Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal since 1993, Gilles Savard led the department from 2001 to 2007 before heading research, innovation, and international affairs until 2017. From 2017 to 2021, he became the first Executive Director of the Institute for Data Valorization (IVADO) before assuming the interim executive direction of Polytechnique Montréal in 2022.
With over 100 scientific articles published and the supervision of more than 80 students and highly qualified teams, Gilles is a recognized specialist in bilevel programming. His work in revenue management has been adopted by numerous companies in the transportation and energy sectors. He has also played a key role in developing innovation ecosystems in Quebec, particularly in artificial intelligence.
