Technology and market intelligence study on the civil and commercial drone sector
The brief
Carry out a prospective watch mission of the unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and remotely piloted aerial systems (RPAS) sector to support the CED’s positioning and inspire its action levers on its ecosystem. In particular, the assignment aimed to :
- Support the definition of an instrumented and technologically equipped foresight strategy;
- Identify the most active clusters of key private and public players in the sector within the global ecosystem;
- Analyze key trends and identify weak signals;
- Prioritise, together with the CED team, the fields of application of the sector with a significant potential for attraction and development;

The results
- Collection of a corpus of nearly 40,000 documents, including scientific articles, patents, collaborative industrial projects and technical articles and economic literature from the web;
- A mapping of the possible fields of application by analysing the scientific, technological and economic production on the subject including a segmentation by major fields of application;
- A Global and targeted mapping of the unmanned aerial systems (UAS) sector in order to analyse trends and developments in the field, including an analysis of ecosystems with promising international dynamics by identifying key geographical territories, existing players, and links in the targeted ecosystems;
- Support for the Client in its communication/dissemination strategy and continuous updating of the watch;
- A record completion time of two months.
