Intelligent transport mobilisation project
The brief
Tangente IA is a mobilizing project supported by the Quebec government to the tune of $5.6 million. Based primarily on Internet of Things (IoT) technology, the project will use smart solar-powered devices and embedded sensors capable of measuring things such as ridership, air pollution and noise around bus stops. These sensors will collect data on passenger mobility conditions, road traffic and the city environment, ultimately transforming the customer experience on public transport.
Innovitech was commissioned to proceed with the creation of the NPO for the management of the “Tangente IA” project, as well as to provide professional services for the follow-up of the project, accountability and activation.

The results
The Tangente IA project currently involves 3 main industrial partners (Buspas, KPI Digital and Enseicom), in addition to several Quebec universities: McGill, Concordia, Polytechnique Montréal, HEC Montréal, Université de Sherbrooke, UQAM and UQTR.
Other Quebec SMEs will also be involved in this project to complete it by 2022. The deployment of innovative solutions in the public transport sector will help to improve its attractiveness.
