Gen (Ret’d) Alain Parent, CMM, CD is a strategic advisor to national defence and security clients with deep expertise in federal procurement governance, risk, and executive decision-making.
Over a 40-year career in uniform (1979–2018), a Tactical Helicopter Pilot, Alain held senior roles that included Acting Vice Chief of the Defence Staff (VCDS), the second-highest military position in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). Deputy Commander NORAD, Deputy Commander NATO’s Allied Joint Forces Command Naples, Commander 1 Canadian Air Division, and Director Air Strategic Plans at National Defence Headquarters.
He has also recently served as a Senior Mentor to NATO Allied Command Operations, coaching command groups on strategy, governance, and risk. His blend of operational credibility and procurement acumen helps clients navigate Canada’s defence marketplace with clarity and confidence.
Fluent in French and English, Alain holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Le Collège militaire royal de Saint-Jean and a master’s in strategic studies from the United States Air Force Air War College.
