Conducted by Innovitech and its partners during 2020-2021, this study was based on a rigorous methodological approach structured around five components: a literature review, an overview of rolling processes, a state-of-the-art technical and commercial analysis through an instrumented market watch, on-site consultations, and an analysis of environmental considerations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final report, shared with stakeholders in the aluminum industry, was positively received. It presented an encouraging outlook for the aluminum rolled products sector and its medium- and long-term prospects in Quebec.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The study documented and confirmed that aluminum rolling, combined with the use of innovative, more efficient, and eco-friendly processes, could enable Quebec’s aluminum industry to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Provide a global perspective: Offer an unbiased view of ongoing technological and commercial developments, promoting a convergence towards more efficient, profitable, and sustainable continuous rolling processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Capture market opportunities: Identify existing and future niches for high-performance semi-finished rolled products in various sectors (transportation, construction, packaging, etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Address a value chain gap: Fill the gap in rolling transformation within Quebec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Increase supply autonomy: Strengthen national supply independence for Quebec\u2019s and Canada\u2019s aluminum industries, as well as for user industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Promote greener products: Contribute to the development of more eco-friendly aluminum products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Identify market opportunities and partners: Highlight promising areas and key players, both local and international, to establish future alliances and realize these opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
